The other features are also quite impressive, take the large face shield for an example. The shield actually has a locking system that allows the helmet to keep it locked and absorb some of the impacts if you happen to hit the chin area. Another helmet from ILM, the ILM Open-face Cruiser helmet. It’s similar to the Scorpion EXO Convert helmet that I mentioned earlier but it’s a 3/4 helmet and the Scorpion is a half helmet. However, the similarities here are the damn aggressive and cool looks, mostly because of the chin guard in both cases.

The guard here is not a part of the helmet, so it doesn’t provide any protection from impact. But it’s more of a wind guard and for looks kinda thing. But this helmet meets the safety standard and it’s a DOT-rated helmet.

There’s also an inner sun visor included in this helmet, which looks cool and works just fine. The peak visor is removable and has a nice touch in it. Helmets to avoid

While searching for a perfect passenger helmet, you might come across several helmets with a very attractive price tag. It’s natural to think ‘Why not get your hands on this real-deal?’

Well, a helmet that does not pass the minimum safety rating might pop like an eggshell when it comes in contact with the asphalt. If I put it simply, there are some kind of helmets that might not do so well as a passenger helmet.

Non-DOT-rated Helmets

Like I mentioned earlier, what’s the point of paying for a helmet that is not good enough to protect your life when the time comes. Just get a helmet that is at least DOT certified, there are plenty of them mentioned and at a very affordable price. Remember, safety first!

Watermelon Helmet

What I mean here is you shouldn’t use something like a helmet that is not meant to be a helmet. Like any kind of hat or something, even as a passenger helmet. I’m sure you’ve somewhere this watermelon helmet memes or prank video. They might be funny or seem to be the on-the-go solution but they don’t do anything. So, use a proper helmet, even as a passenger helmet.

Conclusion

A passenger helmet is also an important safety gear without a doubt. If you often have a passenger on your ride, it’s time to get a helmet for your passenger. Because if you have someone on your back seat, his/her safety is your responsibility.

As a solution to this situation, you can come up with a handful of solution and all of them includes a helmet for the passenger. You can get an off-road or adventure helmet and use it as a passenger helmet. Or purchase a budget passenger helmet, there are many affordable ones out there as mentioned in the post.

So, motorcycle lovers, be safe, keep safe!!
